Rooting is a significant and vital part of our production process.

Deliflor leads the industry in rooting chrysanthemum cuttings. Upon receiving the cutting material from our production locations, it is processed at our facilities in Maasdijk and the state-of-the-art new rooting location in Nieuwaal using advanced cutting robots. After just under 2 weeks in the rooting greenhouse, the cuttings develop robust roots and are ready to be transported to the customer. Our logistics are highly efficient, allowing us to deliver to our customers just-in-time.

Automated Cutting Department

The unrooted cuttings arrive from Deliflor's production locations in Africa and are fully automatedly potted in the cutting department. We have the most advanced cutting machines that use camera techniques to uniformly pot the cuttings in plug trays. It's a fully automated process that can run continuously 24 hours a day, minimizing the need for manual labor. Through a modern internal logistics process, the potted cuttings are transferred to the cultivation area where rooting takes place. This occurs in both Maasdijk and the brand-new rooting company Deliflor Hoogveld.

Logistics

Through a modern internal logistics process, the potted cuttings are transferred to the cultivation area, where they develop roots over a period of approximately 2 weeks. During periods of low light, this process is supported by assimilation lighting, ensuring a consistently high-quality product year-round. Full trays are moved to the greenhouse via a sophisticated internal transport system, where they are manually placed in the cultivation area. After about 2 weeks, the rooted cuttings are moved from the cultivation area to the delivery area before being transported to the customer.
